Coconut Oil: Skin Care
Do you have dry skin? Coconut oil might be the solution for you. It is a great moisturizer for all skin types. Just take some in your hand and watch it melt as you rub it together to create a oily solution. Then apply it to your problem areas. And wa-lah! Beautiful skin. The fat in the oil supposedly helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other skin problems, such as eczema. My hubby has really dry skin and this seems to be helping.
Sugar Coconut Scrub
This is a 1:3 ratio recipe. 1 tablespoon of sugar to 3 tablespoons of sugar. Heat up the coconut until it starts to melt than pour the sugar into the mix. After stirring the ingredients together and cooled down enough to touch without burning, you can put it on your wet skin. You can even add a little vanilla to give it a nice smell.
Banana Dolphin!
I had just finished making some delicious peanut butter banana ice cream and turned on my Facebook to find this picture in the news feed. Banana Dolphin! This is so cute. I'm going to make one for my hubby with my last remaining banana when he gets home. :)

Coconut Oil: Hair Care
(I don't know if this model used coconut oil, but her hair looks amazing!)
Coconut oil is used in the Indian subcontinent for hair care and will typically use coconut oil on their hair daily after their bath.
Deep Conditioning Coconut Oil Treatment
Take some coconut oil and massage it onto your hair
beginning at the ends. You can massage it into your scalp, but if your hair is naturally oily, you may want to avoid your roots.
Then comb the coconut oil into your hair with a comb and leave it on your head for at least 30 minutes. I recommend you leaving it on your hair more than 30 minutes and closer to 2 hours. If you want to leave it on your hair all night, you can wrap your head in a shower cap and rinse it out in the morning.
Benefits of coconut oil for the hair:
1. Adds body and makes hair appear thicker
2. Boost health and shine.
3. Prevents dandruff (YAY!)
4. Goodbye frizzy hair!
Benefits of Coconut Oil
I heard a lot about the benefits of coconut oil over the years and recently saw it at Costco. I've been reading a lot of healthy recipes that called for this ingredient and wanted to give it a go. If it taste awful, I can always make massage oil or hair masks out of it. But once I read up more about coconut oil, I found out there is so many more things I could use it in. Here are just some of the things you can do with your jar of coconut oil:
1. Hair care
2. Skin care
3. Stress relief
4. Maintaining cholesterol levels
5. Weight loss
6. Increased immunity
7. Proper digestion and metabolism
8. Relief from kidney problems
9. Heart diseases, high blood pressure
10. Dental care
11. Bone strength
12. Lubricant
And much more! It's hard to believe that one item could do so many different things. I'll explore some of these benefits in later posts.

New Hair :)
Just got my haircut! The picture doesn't give it justice due to my horrible camera phone. I kept my length so it still touches my mid back. What do you think? :)

Goodbye Procrastination
I'm not liking this procrastination attitude that I've been having lately. I have a lot of ideas and goals that I want to achieve, and I won't be able to accomplish anything if I don't set my mind to it. I see so many people saying they wish they did this or want to do that, but they never do it. I know life throws a monkey wrench in our plans sometimes and some goals can't be accomplished without help, but I know if there is a will, there is a way. Like they say, "If you always do the same thing, you will always have the same result."
Here's to results!
